Frequently asked questions
What does a special-needs educator actually do?
They run one-hour individual sessions with the child, focused on their specific difficulties — attention, behaviour, learning to read, emotional regulation — and adapt their methods to the profile: ADHD, autism, dyslexia or other specific learning difficulties. The aim is to build concrete tools, not simply to help with homework.
How do I know whether my child needs a special-needs educator rather than a regular tutor?
If the school difficulties stem from a diagnosed or suspected condition (attention, behaviour, reading, writing) rather than from being behind the class, a special-needs educator is more appropriate than a general tutor. The initial assessment exists precisely to clarify that with the family.
Are parents involved in the follow-up?
Yes — every plan includes parent coaching or check-ins depending on the tier, on top of access to the parent space where you find the report from each session and, where relevant, a photo or video.
Where do the sessions take place in Dakar?
At your home, across Plateau/Médina, Point E/Fann, Mermoz/Sacré-Cœur, Almadies/Ngor, Yoff, Parcelles Assainies and Rufisque/Diamniadio. Contact us about any other area.
Can sessions be conducted in English?
Yes. We work with English-speaking and bilingual families, and the parent space — including every session report — is fully available in English.
Ready to get your child the right support?
The initial assessment is the first step, whichever plan you choose afterwards.
